When it comes to getting repairs done, it always pays to ensure you're getting the right price for work that needs to get done.
However, if it’s for regular breakdown issues that are not high-ticket items, requesting three quotes can easily turn into a very expensive exercise, likely over and above what it will cost to get the job done.
When we select tradespeople to work with us, we carefully select them based on their work track record, and ensure they're qualified to do the work, and have adequate insurance.
We focus on a limited pool of quality tradespeople who we know will do a great job at a reasonable price the first time. And because they’re quality tradespeople, this means they’re also in demand and may charge a call-out fee to do quotes, because they’re very busy.
However, for most regular jobs we are able to also likely get an estimate of what this work may cost so you have a fair idea upfront.
At the end of the day, it’s likely faster, easier, and cheaper overall just to get the work done without the need for three quotes.
